Dr. Mike’s “The 7 Day Diet” has became an immediate sensation in the internet after his first apperance in the Dr. Phil program a few days ago. His healthy way of losing weight has caught the attention of the world almost overnight. But there are some voices that questioning the effectiveness of his weight losing method and does it really work? Or it is just some ill promotion by the media that overboost it? Who is Dr. Mike Moreno?
Dr. Mike Moreno’s full name is Dr. Michael Rafael Moreno or better known as “Dr. Mike,” was a student at University of California, Irvine (UCI) and Hahnemann Medical School or the current Drexel University. He was moved to San Diego from his original residency at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, California. He is currently practicing family medicine in San Diego, CA and one of the the board member of the San Diego Chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In 2008, Dr. Mike launched his first program “Walk with Your Doc”, where Dr. Mike would walk with a patient to motivate him or her to exercise. It has since grown into a large thriving community. Dr. Mike dedicated two days a week (every Tuesday and Thursday morning) to enroll with hi patient before start his workday. From here, you can see that Dr. Mike is someone that would take his pride not only as a doctor, but also as a true friend. It sound like a Patch Adam in making to me, don’t you think?

    I am very suspicious of a book “not available in stores” Is this self-published and why would a publisher not be interested?
    Also, why would “Dr” Phil devote 1 hour infomercial to this guy and his book? Has to be something in it for him. If tou check out the plan it is both low calorie and ver low carb. Duh.

    Tondrie, if you cannot afford diapers this early into being a new mother, I think dieting is the last thing that should be on your list of concerns. Go out walking frequently with your newborn to get some fitness into your every day and be smart about what you eat.

    I have been on the 17 day diet plan for over a month now lost 9 pounds the first seventeen days, this is the best diet plan I have every been on, healthy lots to eat and you just watch your waistline shrink- I think Dr Moreno is truly the guy that has figured it out- I am over 50 and at the age that weight loss does not seem to come easy- I would recommend this book for anyone- I had a hard time ordering the book- because it did not have any Alaska on the web sight, My mother ordered it for both of us and she is over seventy and has now lost 16 pounds and we finish the 2nd cycle on Friday, so that would be 16lbs in a total of 5 weeks. I have not weighed yet again will on friday, but the clothes just keep getting loser. Many- Many thanks to Dr Moreno, this is a man that just wants to truly help the people that need to lose weight the really health way. Karen

    Just completed my 6th day and after 5th day was down 6.4 lbs, sugar cravings are just about gone. I am still not drinking enough green tea, but am pleased with results so far.

  16. Let me first say I am on day 10 and have lost 10 1/2 pounds (today is April 22, my start date was April 12). I started at 210 and and now 199.8 at 5’7. I just turned 49 years old and this year I want to lose 55 pounds by the time I hit 50. I am very young spirited and look younger than my age. I have osteoathritis (bone-on-bone) on my left knee and don’t take any drugs for the pain. I want to lose weight and exercise regulary versus getting a knee replacement. I also suffer from inflammatioin. I work 40 hr workweek as secretary at desk. So, what I’m saying is I found the best book for my situation. Every meal plan is perfect for me and my health. I’ve been looking for something that can work with my arthritis/inflammation, naturally to help me live a good quality life. I finally found it! I sit next to a girl with a desk full of sweets everyday and don’t desire one piece. I have stuck to the plan and not cheated once. I do look forward to a glass of wine on my third phase though! I highly recommend this book!

    I’m on my 8th day and have lost 8 lbs!!! This diet is so easy to stick with. I feel great. The food is good and I don’t feel hungry. My question is about the fruit. I love the non-fat, plain yogurt and I mix in a cup of fresh strawberries. My concern is that I usually have this as my snack around 4pm. The book says no fruit after 2pm, so I’m confused. What type of snack should I have after 2pm or is the yogurt and strawberries ok to have? Can someone please advised me on this?

    Day 9 and 11 1/2 lbs gone. Sticking with this diet has been the easiest I have tried. Breaking up excercise into 17 minute segments has been easy to fit into my lifestyle. I have noticed an increase in my energy levels already and am no longer experiencing the mid afternoon crash that was so common. Clothes are fitting better. The best part is that I am not experiencing cravings like I so often have in the past. Our office often has cookies, candies and today, homemade cupcakes yet I can walk past it without feeling deprived or even having the desire to taste. I do know it is early on yet but after trying so many times in the past and so many different programs to lose weight, I feel I have found one that I can make part of my life and stick with it. This is the first diet I have tried that it has not taken an enormous amount of willpower not to cheat or nibble or fight cravings. I find I can make food for my husband and am still content with what I am eating. He is even starting to eat healthier and we are both seeing the benefit from it.

    I checked this book out from the library and have been on it for 6 days now. So far I have lost almost 4 pounds! I have been on many, many diets over the years and have never been able to lose very much weight. This is the first diet that I don’t feel hungry or tired. On the contrary – I have lots of energy and rarely feel hungry. Actually after 24 hours I noticed a tremendous difference in the way I felt. Before I was always tired and always craving carbs, fats and sugar. The second day all that changed. I actually felt normal again. I am so grateful to Dr. Mike — I really think he found the solution to obesity!
